End-of-Life Doula

What is an End-of-Life Doula?

End-of-life doulas (sometimes referred to as death doulas or death midwives) provide non-medical support to those who are dying and often to their families. By discussing wishes for living well before death, current challenges and what the client would like to accomplish, the doula, client and family create personalized plans that address their specific needs. The doula provides emotional, spiritual, psychological and practical support, ensuring that both clients and families feel supported throughout this journey. The doula also works with Hospice and others on the client’s care team to ensure comprehensive support.

I'm a certified End-of-Life Doula through the University of Vermont and I'm a member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance. For me, this work is deeply personal. It began with the loss of my father in 2021, during which I had the privilege of being his caregiver. This experience became even more significant when I started my own business in 2022, Clear View Senior Living Advisor.  I support families and seniors navigating senior living options and help them advocate for the care and support they deserve. I also became dedicated in assisting families during the end-of-life transition, ensuring they have the guidance and resources needed to help them be supported during this diffucult time.

These experiences deepened my understanding of the vital importance of creating a legacy - preserving our words, values and love for those who matter most. This calling inspired me to become an end-of-life doula, where I offer personalized services tailored to meet the unique needs of cliets and their families.
